Discounts
Set up automated, quantity-based discount tiers that apply to quotes consistently. Define ranges, override costs or markup, and restrict discounts to specific catalog items.
Quickstart
Navigate to Settings > Discounts to define the rules that automatically adjust pricing based on volume or quantity.
In-Depth
Discounts in Servantium are rule-based and automatically applied, reducing manual errors and ensuring that volume pricing is applied consistently across all quotes.
Discount Rules
A discount rule is defined by:
- Min/Max Quantity: The range in which the discount applies (e.g., 50 to 100 units).
- Discount Value: The percentage (e.g., 10%) or fixed amount to be deducted.
- Override Cost & Markup: Optionally force a specific internal cost or markup percentage when the discount triggers.
- Tags & Custom Data: Add categorical tags or define custom dynamic properties for advanced reporting.
- Item Restriction: Optionally, you can restrict a discount to a specific catalog item (e.g., “Cloud Licenses” get a discount, but “Labor” does not).
Managing Discounts
You can view and manage your organization’s discount rules centrally from the main Settings screen, or contextually from an individual item’s detail screen.
- Click on any discount row in the table.
- An edit dialog will appear showing the rule’s details, tags, and custom fields.
- Make your changes (such as adjusting the minimum/maximum quantities or discount value) and close the dialog to save.
Automatic Application
You don’t need to “apply” a discount manually.
- Define the rule in Settings.
- When a user adds a line item to a quote and the quantity hits the defined threshold.
- The backend recalculates the line item total and the overall quote total automatically.
Discounts are calculated during the quote “recalculation” phase, ensuring that any changes to quantities or items are immediately reflected in the final price.
