Tags
Add custom metadata to engagements, accounts, resources, and items using flexible tag categories. Filter, group, and surface the data your firm actually cares about.
Quickstart
Navigate to Settings > Tags to create the categories and values used to filter and group your engagements, accounts, and resources.
In-Depth
Tags are the primary way to add custom metadata to your data in Servantium. Unlike fixed fields, tags are flexible and can be applied to almost any object.
Tag Categories
To keep your data organized, tags are grouped into Categories. Each category has:
- Name: The grouping label (e.g., “Industry,” “Priority,” “Region”).
- Color: A visual identifier (hex code) that makes tags easy to spot in lists and on the dashboard.
- Values: The individual tags within that category (e.g., under “Industry,” you might have “Finance,” “Healthcare,” and “Retail”).
Managing Tags
- Create a Category first.
- Click into the category to add individual Tags.
- These tags will now appear in the “Tags” field on relevant screens (Engagements, Accounts, etc.).
Best Practices
Design your tag categories around your reporting needs. If you need to see “Profitability by Region,” make sure you have a “Region” tag category and that it’s consistently applied to your engagements.
Commonly used categories include:
- Service Line: (e.g., Strategy, Design, Engineering)
- Technology Stack: (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Client Tier: (e.g., Enterprise, Mid-Market, SMB)
- Status/Priority: (e.g., Hot, Warm, Cold)
